Review by hotel critic
Having recently stayed at Plaza Opera, my experience in Palermo was a mix of hits and misses. The location, just a stone's throw away from Teatro Politeama and Teatro Massimo, is unbeatable. The hotel's modern facilities, in particular, stood out amidst the historic backdrop. The staff, notably Sylvie, were incredibly accommodating during our stay. However, when it comes to value for money, Plaza Opera falls short. While the room was clean and comfortable, certain amenities like an ironing facility or a mini-bar were lacking. The paid shuttle service was convenient, yet somewhat overpriced compared to local options. Additionally, the absence of certain services like in-room breakfast or a business center limited the overall luxury experience. In conclusion, Plaza Opera offers a prime location with decent accommodation, but for those seeking a truly luxurious stay without breaking the bank, exploring other options in Palermo might be wise.
